A 1: Why invest in a franchise ?

The greatest benefit of owning a franchise is the opportunity to be your own boss within a proven system. Franchising is one of the most thriving forms of businesses anywhere. A 3: What background and experience do you need to start a Borga Group franchise?

Borga shows and helps new members in running a Borga sales office. The first requirement is that you need to be ready to work hard, be open-minded and fair in your dealings. If you have experience in the building sector, running a company, have any management skills or education then this will definitely help you to get started. Also having a registered company, a rented or owned office, and staff will speed up the start up, although none of this is necessary.

A 4: Can I sell products out of Borga Group offer?

If you are running a company and selling other products then under certain conditions it is possible to still sell our products. For these sales Borga will not charge you a franchise fee.

A 5: How much do I need to start a Borga sales office ?

The estimated initial investment required per standard sales office ranges from approximately 2,000 Euro to 10,000 Euros. If you want to build up stock levels then this requires more investment. The actual amount will vary depending on the size of your unit and the geographical area you are supplying. Additionally you need to pay for the starting fee of 3,000 euros, and your initial office rent, salaries, etc.

A 6: What is included in the franchise fee ?

There are only two fees: entrance and franchising. Unlike most franchise opportunities, Borga has a very low entrance (start-up) fee of only 3,000 euros. Having such a low franchise fee enables most of our franchisees to get started right away. The franchise fee (royalty fee) is 5% of each month’s turnover of Borga products.

A 7: When is the best time to start ?

The season for selling roofs usually starts in April-May and ends before winter, so a good time to start is in early spring. Even so, the best time to start is when you are ready, it is that simple. However, once you have made your decision, the sooner you involve us, the sooner you will be equipped to handle the wide spectrum of challenges you will face. We are partnered with individuals at every stage of the process, from the initial idea through pre- and post-openings. Even accomplished Borga managers have worked with us to help solve their operating dilemmas. No matter when you start, or where you are in the process, you know that we are here to assist you.

A 8: What do you need to know about me ?

Each prospective franchisee completes an application form to help us understand exactly what they want to achieve with their Borga business. We also talk extensively with you so we can ensure the relationship is a good one, and we invite you to visit an existing location to see what it is we do. The information you give in the Application form helps us identify your strengths and weaknesses from a market segment, operational and financial standpoints. Our conversations will help us to understand where you may need more assistance, and the tour will provide insight into the basics about the day-to-day operations of running this business. The Borga business is not necessarily right for everyone, and we want to make sure that we have the right resources to support you in reaching your goals.

A 9: How do I apply for the franchise program ?

First, fill out the Application form. Once we receive it we will contact you by phone to talk further about your interests and goals. Finally, before embarking on any new franchise agreement, we will meet you and show you what we do to make sure that this is a good fit for both of us.

A 10: What kind of return can I expect to make on my investment ?

Borga Group does not provide any earnings claim information. We do, however, encourage prospective franchisees to conduct significant due diligence during the investigation process and contact existing franchisees with questions regarding marketing, financing, sales volumes, operations, etc. The amount of profit or loss is dependent on a number of factors, including the ability of the franchisee to manage the business, drive sales volume and control operating costs.

A 11: Does the Borga Group provide financing for office development ?

No, Borga Group does not provide financing.

A 12: How long is the typical contract ?

License agreements are granted for an initial period of 3 years, with the option to renew for successive 3-year periods. There is no fee for renewal. The decision concerning renewal is solely down to the Borga member.

A 13: Can I have more than one Borga office ? Yes. Like any other business, you have the opportunity to own multi-unit operations as long as you meet our financial, operational and management qualifications - as well as maintaining good standing within our system.

A 14: How do I get started ?

First, please read all of the information on the Borga website, paying particular attention to "how we proceed". If you believe you meet Borga requirements and wish to become part of our franchise family, please complete the Application Form and send it to us. We will read it and contact you.

A 15: How long does it take to open a Borga office ?

It normally takes about 2 - 6 weeks to open a sales office in total. This general timeframe includes completing a marketing study, finding a suitable location, negotiating and signing the lease, designing the office, training you in management, stocking and merchandising. Then the office is ready to open.

A 16: How big exclusive sales area can I get ?

Included in the Franchise Application is a territory request. We will mutually establish a market territory, adjusted to suit the marketing conditions, your sales capacity and population density over which you have exclusive rights. Your Borga products sales area will be protected, available only for you.

A 17: How long has your company been in business?

We opened our first production line for profiled steel sheets and our sales office in the beginning of 1970s in Sweden. We have continued to develop and grow ever since. Click here to read more about Borga.

A 18: How good is the Borga offer in comparison with the local competition?

Most of your competitors will be sole traders, and even any large companies in your area will have its limits. You will have advantages over the competition in terms of much better prices and purchasing conditions for all your main products because Borga negotiates on a global level, meaning usually millions. You will have a unique brand in your market, and strong support in knowledge of sales and marketing, as well as being aware of global trends and experience of other markets. Your position in your market will be very firm.

A 19: What difference would it make if I did everything on my own?

To start this type of company on your own requires many things. You need to develop your own management, ordering, logistical, invoicing, stock keeping, and promotional systems, and you will have to create your own brochures, web pages, and a salary system for employees. When you start out, any discounts from suppliers are not very attractive so it is difficult to beat your competitors. There are many different problems and hardly any good sources for feedback. When you start with Borga, from the beginning you have a brand and many difficulties have already been solved. You can just focus on learning the right methods from Borga. We will help you to keep growing, giving you strong support.

A 20: Are there any hidden extra costs?

No. There are no hidden costs. Franchise fee, starting fee, office investment cost and monthly operation costs. That is it.

A 21: Can I compete in my local market against many other roof suppliers?

Of course, no problem! There is no city in Europe where Borga has no competition. You will supply good, quality products in a professional way at attractive prices and with a trustworthy brand. Will we help you to compete and grow - that is our task!

A 22: Does the number of offices I have effect the Franchise fee?

We try to encourage our Borga Members to open new offices within their exclusive area. No extra fee is charged for that. Both parties are just interested in growth and profit.

 A 23: Do I have to work the franchise every day?

A Borga sales office is a hands-on, owner–operated business that you have to run. A franchise is not a passive investment, and we expect our franchisees to take an ongoing, active role in their Franchise, but of course you do not have to be in the office all the time.
